WELLINGTON Town welcomed Yeovil & District Youth League's Wessex Raptors to the Playing Fields on Sunday for the second round of the Under 15 County Cup - and the visitors put on a classy show to win 7-0.

George B, who's been in good form in goal for Welly, was into the action moments after kick-off as the visitors looked to grab an early lead. And while the visitors dominated early territory and possession, Welly's defence held firm to repel the Raptor's attacking threat.

But in the 13th minute, Wessex's early dominance was rewarded with the opening goal of the game. But Town, as they've shown all season, continued to be a threat on the break - Jack B forcing a save from the Raptor's keeper on 25 minutes as the hosts looked to force an equaliser

.However three goals inside the final eight minutes of the first half, derailed Town's hopes of an equaliser to leave the visitors 4-0 up at the break.

Welly, who showed plenty of fight throughout, came close to pulling one back in the second half - a free-kick from Matt T testing the keeper on 50 minutes. But it just wasn't to be Town's day - three second-half goals for the visitors as a well-organised Wessex team ran out worthy victors.
