WELLINGTON Wanderers U11s opened their 2026 campaign with a trip to Westonzoyland.
With the introduction to a brand‑new formation, this fixture was all about testing adaptability and giving the boys another tactical option for the months ahead.
From the outset, Wellington embraced the challenge superbly, taking control of the midfield and showing real confidence in possession. Their sharpness in attack was clear to see, with positive movement and quick combinations creating promising openings.
Defensively, Wanderers looked composed and disciplined, adjusting well to their new roles and maintaining a solid structure. As the game progressed, natural areas for development emerged—an expected part of trialling a fresh system—but these moments only highlighted how much potential this group has.
Overall, it was a highly encouraging performance and a credit to every player involved. The boys demonstrated adaptability, resilience, and a real desire to learn—qualities that will serve them brilliantly as the season unfolds.
