WELLINGTON Association Football Club’s Wanderers Under 14s celebrated a successful season with their presentation evening in the clubhouse - featuring a disco, raffle and pizza delivery.

The boys finished runners-up to champions Staplegrove Youth Saints in the top division of the HO Taunton & District Youth Football League after being promoted from division three to one last season.

They also made it to the semi-finals of the KO Cup , being knocked out by the eventual winners Staplegrove who completed the double.

The Wanderers have had plenty of ups and downs throughout the season and, with a squad of 31, made sure there was football for everyone by playing Saturday friendly matches and league games on a Sunday

Manager Seb Coe said: “We have a great bunch of lads and the potential and talent in the squad is unbelievable. “We are really excited about how far we can take them next season when we will be looking to go one better and reach that top spot. “Well done to all involved on a fantastic effort - bring on the summer tournaments and we can’t wait to get into next season when we will be in the Exeter league (Saturdays) and Taunton league (Sundays).” On Sunday, May 24, the Wanderers travelled to Chelsea to represent Wellington in a tournament at Stamford Bridge against some of the best academies and JPL sides in the country.
