A GROUP from Wellington Cricket Club’s youth section were chosen to be guard of honour at Somerset’s T20 game against Glamorgan at Taunton on Sunday.
Birthday boy Thomas Gendall led out the umpires and players prior to the start of the match and he was flanked by players from Wellington’s three age group teams - U11, U13 and U15.
The success of the All Stars cricket led to another three children, Amy Colman, Jack Holloway and Robin Hill, being asked to take part as special guests of Somerset player Paul Van Meekeren, who earlier in the season took part in an All Stars session at Wellington.
Players taking part, Thomas Gendall leading out the teams, flanked on the left by (front to back), Robin Hill, Amy Colman, Thomas Knell, Olly Hunt, Josh Cashmore, Alec Williams, Max Brodie and Jonty Ogilvie. On the right (front to back), Jack Holloway, Oliver Hutchings, Lewie Harrison, Jonah Richardson, Lucy Hill, Riley Bowler, Ben Wardell and Callum Hendy.
