WELLINGTON’S Les Phillips Cup quarter-final at home to Cheddar has been called off - again.
The tie was due to be played on Wednesday, January 28, but was postponed because of a rain-soaked pitch following a morning pitch inspection.
“We had hoped it might be playable, but we have simply had too much rain - and more is forecast,” said club chairman Mike Hall.
“It is a pity because we left the decision until as late as we could, but in the end we had no choice.”
Meanwhile, Wellington are due to play another home game in the Premier Division of the Jewson Western League on Saturday, January 31, when Oldland Abbotonians will be the visitors (3p.m.).
