WELLINGTON Wildcats Under 9s enjoyed a fantastic time taking part in a football tournament at Street over the past weekend. Led by debut manager Georgia Wright, the Player of the day went to Esme for covering every blade of grass and being an amazing team player.
For their final league game of the season, the Wildcats Under 12s welcomed Huish Tigers to Dobree Park.
After a wintry shower the game started with the Wildcats coming out of the blocks firing. An early shot from distance by Maria G put the Wildcats in front early and their lead was soon doubled by another long range shot from Millie G.
Soon after Emilia S used her neat footwork inside the box to fire her close range effort in. The half ended with a mazy dribble into the box by Summer H, leaving the defenders no option other than a foul and a penalty. Sara M stepped up and fired the ball home for a 4-0 lead at half time.
The second half was again dominated by the Wildcats and Sara M added to her tally early on. The coaching team took the opportunity to give some players time in different positions with goalkeeper Remi S getting some minutes out on the pitch.
Sara M completed her hat trick after latching on to a through ball from Remi S and popping it home for a 6-1 win to finish off the league season.
Player of the match was duly awarded to Summer H who had an outstanding game in the midfield.
Meanwhile, Wellington Wildcats Under 12s and Under 15s will be competing in their respective League Cup finals which are being held at Middlezoy Rovers Football Club - and they will both be hoping to do the club proud.
