WELLINGTON were unable to prevent Mousehole clinching the Premier Division title in the Toolstation League yesterday (Sat).
They beat the Somerset side 3-0 at home and will be playing Southern League football next season.
Wellington were forced to play outfield player Miles Quick in goal - he has played there before - because Harley Wilkinson and Shay Allen, who share the goalkeeping duties, were both unavailable.
However, the new champions made a shaky start before Andy Elrock steadied nerves by putting them ahead in the 15th minute.
Wellington continued to be competitive but Callum Mconie snapped up another goal for the home side in the 28th minute.
And it was all over in the 81st minute when Hayden Turner fired home after Quick had pushed out a shot.
Wellington are back in action on Tuesday when they play at 'home' against Helston at Buckland.
Meanwhile, Wellington Reserves' hopes of finishing third in Division One of the Devon & Exeter League suffered a big setback when they lost 3-0 at home to leaders Winkleigh.
