WELLINGTON have arranged two pre-season rugby games - but are still looking to fix up a third.

They will play Welsh club Abercarn at the Athletic Ground on Saturday, August 22, and will visit North Petherton the following Thursday evening.

“For some reason it has been difficult to arrange pre-season friendlies this summer,” said Wellington coach Allyn Chetland. “However, we will keep trying.”

Wellington, who won the Cornwall and Devon League and the Somerset Vase last season, continue to have ‘good numbers’ at training on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Their first match in Western Counties West is at home to Chard and Chetland says it is important to get off to a winning start.

“If you can win your opening game it usually sets you up nicely for the first month,” said Chetland. “There have been some changes within the Chard club during the summer so we don’t know what to expect.”
