WELLINGTON Rugby Club’s president Matt Colman has no fears about playing in South West One (W) next season.
“It is great to be playing the likes of Bridgwater and Albion and I think we’re going into a level of rugby which we can cope with,” said Colman. “I certainly don’t think we should be daunted by it – we will be fine.
“Any doubts would have been dispelled by our performance against Swindon in the RFU Intermediate Cup Divisional final.
“The lads showed by the way they approached the game and how they played that we are a good, young, maturing squad of players. It was a fantastic season and our management team of Graham [Dawe], Nico Sestaret and Allyn [Chetland] were tremendous.
“I should also like to pay tribute to the work put in by chairman John Dunbar, treasurer David Wicks, secretary Ashley Colman and facilities manager Caroline Davy, particularly during these difficult times.
“We now look forward to rekindling fixtures with Crediton, Sidmouth and North Petherton.”
