FORMER England and Bath rugby international Graham Dawe has already taken up his new coaching job with Wellington Rugby Club, having started last week, and will be renewing some connections with the area.
Dawe has been brought in by Wellington following the lst XV’s relegation from Western Counties West.
“I have had an association with Wellington since the 70s, because my father’s sister lived in a house overlooking the rugby club for 20 years,” said Dawe.
The link-up has also come about because of his friendship with former Bath and Somerset prop Richard Lee, who is Wellington born.
Dawe will continue to coach South West Premier side Brixham as well this season, but he will no longer be doing any sessions with Penryn.
“Initially I will be doing one session a week with Wellington, but occasionally I can do more.”
Wellington’s first team will be playing in the Devon and Cornwall League this coming season while the 2nd XV will be competing in Somerset One.
Wellington began pre-season training last week.
