WELLINGTON will be looking to avenge a narrow defeat at North Petherton when the sides meet again in Regional Two South West at the Athletic Ground tomorrow (Sat, 2.30p.m.).
Petherton beat Wellington 28-24 on a Friday night early last November and Wellington coach Allyn Chetland said: "There were some questionable decisions against us in that game. I thought we were the better side throughout."
Wellington, beaten narrowly by Truro the previous weekend, bounced back to winning form by beating Chard 27-14 away last weekend and Chetland added: "We knew where their strengths and weaknesses were and the boys exploited this.
"Even though we were down at half time, we always felt we could win it. We played some really good rugby in the second half. In the end it was one of those days when most things went according to plan.
"We have shown all season that we are capable of beating anyone if we can field a near full-strength side. Fielding a settled team has always been the aim but this has proved difficult for most of the season."
Wellington go into the match against Petherton in seventh spot, while their opponents are only one place below them but nine points behind, having also played one more match.
Wellington 2nd XV will be looking to return to action when they play on the Beech Grove pitch - against their Wells counterparts who are bottom of Counties Three Somerset South (2.30p.m. kick-off). Wells have lost all 14 of their fixtures and are in minus points territory. Wellington gained a 40-17 victory when they played at Wells in November.
