WELLINGTON and Wiveliscombe will both be looking to bounce back today(Saturday) after losing away games in Western Counties West over the weekend.

Wellington paid the penalty for making too many mistakes by losing 26-19 against Falmouth while injury-hit Wivey were well beaten 55-24 at Chard.

Wellington’s opponents at the Athletic Ground on Saturday are Kingsbridge whose appeal last season after their defeat by Wellington resulted in the deduction of five points for their opponents - and with it the championship.

Kingsbridge gained nothing from the appeal which was not very sporting - and they are likely to get a cool reception on Saturday (3.00).

Centre George Hodgson and winger Ash Harney, who both missed Wellington’s game at Falmouth, should both be available for Saturday, increasing the competition for places.

“Three of Falmouth’s four tries were down to basic mistakes,” said Wellington coach Allyn Chetland. “Kingsbridge enjoyed a good win on Saturday and we look forward to welcoming them.”

Wellington’s only doubt is prop Ryan Marke, who came off in the second half with a shoulder injury at Falmouth.

Wiveliscombe, who are still suffering from injuries, are home to St Austell who won 32-17 at Saltash over the weekend.

Wiveliscombe coach Peter Stone believes his home side’s home form will keep them in the division.

Wellington 2nd XV, the early leaders of Somerset One, are away to Bridgwater and Albion on Friday night, while Wiveliscombe 2nd XV are away to Morganians on Saturday in Somerset Two South.
