WELLINGTON’S hopes of back-to-back rugby wins in Counties One Western North were dashed when they lost 27-3 away to Old Bristolians in their latest match.
The home side went into the game chasing their fourth victory in five matches but fell behind after ten minutes when Will Brewer kicked a penalty for bottom side Wellington.
However, Old Bristolians went ahead with an unconverted try in the 20th minute and added another try in the 35th minute, this time converted, to lead 12-3 at half time.
Heavy rain meant conditions deteriorated as the home side extended their lead to 17-3 in the second half with a try which was not converted.
Old Bristolians were now having much more of the ball and they scored two more unconverted tries - in the 67th and 76th minutes.
Wellington, who have now lost four of their five matches, will be back at the Athletic Ground this coming weekend, October 31, when they play Chard.
