WELLINGTON'S unbeaten record will be at stake today (Sat) when they play at home to North Perrott in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League.
Aaron Campbell's boys have won their last four league matches and have an eight-point lead over second-placed Taunton with Wembdon and Chard close behind.
Last weekend, Wellington chalked up a nine-wicket away win over Taunton St Andrews 2nd XI, while Wembdon and Chard both lost.
They have continued to maintain the form they showed in the second half of last season when they strung together some fine victories.
Meanwhile Wellington maintained their tremendous start to the season with a 106-run win over North Petherton in the first round proper of the limited-overs Baker Cup cricket competition last Monday evening.
Wellington skipper Aaron Campbell stroked 80 runs as Wellington made 178 in their allotted overs, while fellow opener George Ruell scored 37.
It was a target far beyond Petherton who were bowled out for 76 with Sri Lankan spin king Sandaken Pathirana taking 5-8, proving unplayable, while Jack Beal snapped up 3-17.
Having lost their top of the table clash at Yeovil last weekend, Wiveliscombe will be looking to get back to winning ways at home to Chard today in the third division of the Somerset League.
Wellington 2nd XI are away to leaders Purnell in Division Four, while Wellington 3rd XI are also away - to Ilminster in Division Seven Red.
In the West Somerset League, top of the table Morebath entertain Bridgetown, Brompton Ralph are home to Bagborough and Kilve play away to Stoke St Mary.
In Division Two, leaders Ashbrittle are without a game but are 36 points clear of the field and will remain top regardless of tomorrow's games.
