TOP of the table Wellington gained a nerve-jangling four-wicket away victory over Taunton in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League yesterday (Sat).

Having bowled out Taunton for only 73, Wellington appeared set for one of their easiest wins of the season.

However, after an opening stand of 30, they collapsed to 50-6 before Jack Beale (21) steered them to their eighth successive victory. Lian Redrup finished with figures of 3-21.

Earlier Taunton's batters were all over the place as they lost wicket after wicket against the bowling of Sandaken Pathirana (3-12), skipper Arron Campbell (3-10) and Toby Stiraker (2-18).

Wellington remain nine points clear of second-placed Chard.
