WELLINGTON will be looking to bounce back after three successive defeats when they play at home to second from bottom Chard in Regional Two South West tomorrow (Sat, 2.30p.m.).
Both Wellington and Chard have not enjoyed the best of results in recent weeks with the South Somerset outfit also having lost their last two games.
Wellington are expected to be at near full-strength although there is a doubt over the fitness of loose head prop Jason Rowland who suffered a head injury at Sidmouth last weekend and went off in the first half.
"I would think he's 50-50 at the moment," said Wellington's head coach Graham Dawe earlier this week. Wellington lost 50-0 against leaders Sidmouth away last weekend, and Dawe added: "I thought the lads put in a good shift and we kept them out for almost 25 minutes. Unfortunately, the penalty count against us was again high. But we remained competitive.
"We had virtually a full-strength side with only the odd one or two missing.
"When we got the ball I thought we retained it well. They had a couple of class operators who kept the ball moving."
Wellington go into tomorrow's game eighth in the table, with 11 points more than Chard, both sides having played the same number of games.
Wellington 2nd XV, who drew 17-17 with their Chard counterparts at the Athletic Ground last weekend, play away to neighbouring Bridgwater & Albion 2nd XV in Counties Three Somerset tomorrow. Wellington are lying fourth, just off the pace at the top, while Albion are one off the bottom with only two wins this season.
Wiveliscombe lst XV, whose away game against Paignton in Counties One Western West last weekend was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch, are home to fifth-placed St Ives who beat leaders Plymouth Albion Oaks 19-12 last weekend (2.30p.m.).
Wiveliscombe 2nd XV, ninth in Counties Three Somerset South, are away to fifth-placed Tor.
Meanwhile, Wellington's talented back rower Will Hodgson will miss the rest of the season following surgery on his surgery.
