WEATHER permitting, Wellington will be looking to take another step towards the title in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League when they play at home against second from bottom Taunton St Andrews 2nd XI today (Sat, 12.30p.m.).

Arron Campbell's team have a 100 per cent record at the top of the table and have a 24-point cushion over second-placed Chard who have a tough home game against Wembdon who are lying third, but still have an outside chance of promotion.

Alex Sparks, who has already scored a century for Wellington this season, returns to the side along with big-hitting all-rounder Jack Beale. Both missed last weekend's victory over Frome.

Wellington have won all 11 matches they have played, with the other two fixtures being rained off.

Wellington 2nd XI, who also top Division Four in the Somerset League, play away to second-placed Taunton Indian with 35 points separating the sides. Taunton Indian have a game in hand, while third-placed Spaxton are still in the hunt for the championship.

Wellington 3rd XI, who are lying third in Division Seven Red, are without a fixture.

With the weather forecast not good, all teams will be looking to the skies hoping games will not be called off because of rain.
