WELLINGTON’S football match at Clevedon in the third round of the Les Phillips Cup tonight (Wednesday) has been called off because of the poor state of the pitch.

It’s another headache for the Wellington club who still has at least another 20 games to play this season.

“We could find ourselves playing three games a week, which is a lot to ask of the players,” said joint boss Alex Pope today.

Meanwhile, Wellington have a rearranged away game in the league at Millbrook on Saturday.
