WELLINGTON went down to a 3-0 defeat away to Axminister Town in a pre-season friendly last night (yesterday).

Assistant player-manager Jack Porter described it as a 'good workout against a very experienced side.'

He said: "Axminster have several players who used to play for Taunton and Tiverton. Despite this we did create some chances."

Wellington are hoping to field a near full-strength side for Friday evening's friendly at Bishops Lydeard (7p.m.).
