WELLINGTON had to call off their first pre-season training session last night (Wed) because too many players were on holiday.
Instead, new manager Richard Cherry held a meeting with some of the players who did manage to turn up.
Meanwhile, Wellington will again be playing in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League, having finished a disappointing 15th last season.
It is a very demanding division with some clubs paying players much more than Wellington can afford.
But Cherry believes Wellington can achieve a higher position in the Premier Division and he is also hoping for some good cup results.
Cherry will be assisted this coming season by defender Jack Porter who will be his number two.
They have taken over from joint managers Tim Legg and Alex Pope who stepped down at the end of last season.
Pope has since joined Southern League club Tiverton Town as first team coach.
