WELLINGTON suffered a heartbreaking 18-16 away defeat by Bridgwater & Albion in the Somerset Cup under floodlights last night (Tues).
Wellington looked to be heading for a comfortable victory after they built up a 16-3 lead in the second half, leaving their opponents two scores adrift.
But Albion, who won a thrilling 19-17 pre-season friendly at Wellington after being 17-0 down, came storming back to score two tries, the second being converted.
Chris Batts scored Wellington's only try in the second half with Alex Davey kicking three penalties, two in the first half, and a conversion. Wellington led 6-3 at half time on a wet and damp night.
Wellington will be looking to end a run of four successive defeats when they play away to struggling Truro in Regional Two South West on Saturday. Truro have not won a game this season.
