WELLINGTON went down 3-1 at home to title-chasing Mousehole in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League last night (Tues).

Victory enabled Mousehole to stay two points behind leaders Saltash United, with two crucial games in hand. Saltash beat Bridgwater United 3-1 at home - also last night.

Wellington took the lead in the 11th minute when a header by Tom Stone was bundled over the goalline by a defender.

Max Hill turned in a corner to make it 1-1 after 21 minutes and Haydon Turner hit a second for the Cornish side in the 31st minute.

Trailing 2-1 at the break, Wellington went further behind when Turner netted from the penalty spot in the 52nd minute.

Wellington are back in action on the Playing Field on Good Friday when they play fourth-placed Buckland Athletic (1p.m.).
