WELLINGTON have continued to sign new players as they prepare for their first Toolstation League game of the season - away to Helston in the Premier Division tomorrow (Sat).

Among those added to the squad this week are goalkeeper Rhys Williams, Beckham Pyatt, Flynn Smith, Ryan Hibbert and Acey Mead.

Assistant player-manager Jack Porter has also revealed he has put in seven days of approach for other players, some local.

Wellington are being managed this coming season by Richard Cherry, who has taken over from joint managers Tim Legg and Alex Pope who both stepped down at the end of the winter.

Legg has since signed to play for Chard Town in the Uhlsport Somerset County League while Pope has become head coach at Tiverton Town.

Helston finished sixth in the premier division last season while Wellington were a disappointing 15th.

Apart from improving their position in the league, Cherry says he would like a good run in one of the cups.

Meanwhile Tom Stone, a regular in Wellington's defence last season, has signed for rivals Buckland Athletic.
