AFTER nine successive away games without a win, Wellington were held to a 1-1 draw by St Blazey in their first home match of the season in the Premier Division of the Toolstation League yesterday.
However, it could have been a three-pointer for Wellington who created enough chances to have won. But their shot-shy attack failed to take advantage of some good attacking play, particularly in the second half.
Luke Cloke put the visitors, who beat bottom side Millbrook 7-0 last weekend, ahead in the 35th minute but Wellington equalised in the 53rd minute when Glen Wright's header went in off a defender following a long throw-in by assistant player-manager Jack Porter.
After this Wellington, playing up the slope on a greasy surface, played the better football without reward.
