WELLINGTON remain 24 points clear of the field in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League despite having their home game at the Playing Field against third-placed Wembdon called off because of rain this afternoon.

Wellington and Wembdon both received six points each for the cancelled fixture, while second-placed Chard also suffered the same fate after their match at Yeovil fell victim of the bad weather. They too were awarded six points.

Today has been a miserable day for club cricket with most matches failing to get under way, including those in the Somerset and West Somerset Leagues.
