WELLINGTON Swimming Club has launched a drive for new members and is actively recruiting new swimmers to boost numbers.
Having moved back to the local leisure centre after its refurbishment last summer, the club is back in full swing and its members are training three evenings per week. They are also attending local swimming galas and enjoying plenty of success against clubs from the area .
Wellington Swimming Club is a friendly club with members ranging from seven to18 years of age who enjoy swimming for fitness, to develop their strength and stroke technique, as well as those keen to compete and better their swimming record.
Last weekend Wellington Swimming Club (WSC) attended the Somerset County Development Meet at Millfied school near Street where WSC swimmers achieved various personal best times and recorded County times for the National register. Congratulations go to two of its members Robert and Jessie who were also awarded medals for their performances.
WSC training is held at Wellington Sports Centre off Coram’s Lane (by the rugby club) on a Sunday, Tuesday and Friday evenings – with members having the flexibility to choose how many sessions they attend each week.
The club offers prospective members up to three trial sessions to see if the swimming club is for them. If you would like to join a friendly swimming club and require further information or to arrange a free trial please email [email protected].
On the 7th November 2025 Wellington Swimming Club are arranging a time trial for current and prospective members at the Wellington Sports Centre. Time trials will be held over 50m for each stroke.
