WELLINGTON Town's big home game against title rivals Chard Town in South Division of the Western Counties Floodlit Youth League today (Tues) has been called off.

The Wellington club made two inspections of the pitch at the Playing Field this morning before deciding play was not possible.

"The forecast is not good and we had to think of the damage we might cause the pitch if we played,"' said assistant manager Andrew Govier today. "However, we wanted very much to play the game and that's why we left the decision as late as possible."
