WELLINGTON'S first cricket friendly of the new season on Sunday has been called off because of the bad weather.

They were due to play at Minehead but the West Somerset club have been prevented from working on the pitch because of rain.

Wellington, who will be playing in the Somerset Division of the West of England League this summer, will again be captained by Aaron Campbell with Luke Desave as vice-captain.

The first team have another warm-up game arranged at Uphill Castle tomorrow week.
