WELLINGTON went down to a dramatic 24-22 away defeat against North Petherton in Regional Two South West - after leading by 15 points at one stage in the second half.

Skipper Danny Lee, Cam Venn and George Hodgson scored tries as Wellington went 22-7 up in the second half of this derby match.

However, Petherton came storming back with two converted tries and a crucial late penalty to win a thrilling game.

Wellington head coach Graham Dawe was naturally disappointed with his side losing after they had put themselves into a match-winning position.

""I've said it before - we're not far away from being a winning side," he said afterwards. "We're just not getting any luck at the moment."
