EMERGENCY services were called to a supermarket after a freezer unit overheated.
The retail chain Lidl, on Nynehead Road, Wellington, was evacuated at around 2pm on August 10 as alarms sounded.
Three appliances were dispatched to the scene from Taunton and Wellington Fire Stations following reports of a burning smell.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called to a supermarket due to an alarm being activated and reports of a burning smell.
“Crews used thermal imaging cameras to investigate the source of the issue, which was a freezer unit that had overheated, there was no fire, and no further action necessary to be taken by crews. Engineers were contacted and the scene left in the hands of the supermarket staff.”
