A ROAD has been closed after a lorry spun and blocked cars from passing.

The incident took place at the top of Monument Hill on Wellington Road on Monday, October 20. The road was closed in both directions from its junction with Blackdown Hill, and near the junction with Briscoe Lane.

Police were called to the site at 11.55am, and stayed there until just before 2pm, as the closure was being manned by Somerset Council.

No one has been injured in the incident.

A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Police said: “We were called at 11.55am on Monday, October 20 after a lorry became stuck on Wellington Hill.

“Officers attended and the road was closed by the council while the vehicle was recovered.”

Somerset Council have been approached for comment.
