A LARGE emergency services response was seen on Saturday afternoon (August 10) after a second crash in two days blocked the A38 between Wellington and Taunton.
Police were closing the road because of the two-car collision which happened shortly after 12 noon, and a fire crew from Wellington Fire Station was despatched to the scene.
About a dozen ambulance and police vehicles were reported to be at the scene in addition to the fire engine, one of which was a doctor’s first response car.
The incident was said to have happened on the stretch of the road between Sheppy’s Cider Farm and the World’s End public house.
On Thursday, a crash near the Blackdown Garden Centre also saw the A38 shut for a few hours, resulting in gridlocked traffic on side roads in the area.
There was no information available about any injuries being suffered in Saturday’s collision, which was a mile further east of Thursday’s incident.
An AA spokesperson said there were ‘reports of slow traffic both ways near The World’s End pub’.
