A WELLINGTON recycling machinery specialist has marked a major milestone in its growth by opening a large new unit on the other side of town.

PRM Waste Systems, based on the Chelston business park, has expanded its manufacturing operation with a new 4,000-plus sq ft facility on the Lowmoor business park, in Tonedale.

The company, which supplies and manufactures waste recycling and volume reduction machinery across the UK, Ireland, and further afield, was founded more than 25 years ago.

Its expansion comes on the back of continued growth in PRM Projects, a bespoke engineering arm of the business responsible for larger, more complex builds.

As demand in this area has grown, so has the need for additional space to design, build, and deliver projects, with the Lowmoor premises representing PRM’s response to its success.

The new facility will be dedicated to larger machinery builds, with an initial focus on conveyor systems, adding substantial extra capacity alongside PRM’s existing facilities.

The opening was marked with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by company directors and staff alongside Roger Smith, head of Sedgemoor Chamber of Commerce, of which PRM is a member.

PRM managing director Brian Moore said: “Our continued growth in recent years is a testament to the dedication of our team and the trust our customers place in us.

Mr Moore said the Lowmoor opening was another step forward in the company’s journey, reflecting its ongoing investment in its people, facilities, and ability to deliver for customers at scale.

Chamber general manager Mr Smith, who officially cut the ribbon, said: “It is fantastic to see a local business like PRM continuing to invest and grow within our incredible community.

“Manufacturing plays an important role in the success of our region and Lowmoor is a great example of the kind of success story the chamber loves to celebrate.”

PRM was founded in 1998 and aims to live up to a strapline of ‘Innovative Waste Solutions’.

Mr Moore said: “We are passionate about helping businesses with their recycling challenges and looking for innovative and cost effective ways to approach these.

“Because we are an independent company we are able to be agile in our problem solving and to meet our customers needs.”

The company also has an exclusive partnership for depackaging solutions in the UK with Mavitec Green Energy, based in The Netherlands, and with Spanish firm Bianna Advanced Recycling Technologies, which builds treatment plants worldwide.

Mr Moore said the collaboration with Mavitec filled a gap in the market and enabled PRM to further support the food waste processing industry with essential equipment.
