THOUSANDS of spectators, including flag-waving schoolchildren, braved rain and blustery wind to line the streets of Wellington and local roads to get a glimpse of the Tour of Britain road race yesterday.

The 100-odd cyclists, supported by police and back-up vehicles and motor-cyclists, came through the town just after midday.
