WELLINGTON School Comedy Club is hosting an incredible line-up for their next April show.
The April 23 night of comedy at The Great Hall at Wellington School features Louise Leigh as MC. At the age of 37, Louise realised she’d never ride through Paris in a sports car with the warm wind in her hair. So she waited another 5 or 6 years and took up stand up comedy instead.
Since then, Louise has done two well-received runs at the Edinburgh Fringe and is working for some of the big comedy clubs in the South West, Wales and Midlands area.
Headline act is Charlie Baker whose versatile talents as a stand-up comedian, actor, and highly acclaimed jazz singer have earned him a reputation as ‘a superior take on the modern showman’ (The Guardian). On screen, he has appeared in countless shows including The Last Leg, Harry Hill’s Teatime, The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, Never Mind the Buzzcocks and Channel 4’s Comedy Gala.
Roger Monkhouse is a highly accomplished and revered comedian, celebrated for his unique style and unparalleled wit. With a career spanning over three decades, Roger has established himself as a comedic powerhouse, captivating audiences with his sharp observations, impeccable timing, and razor-sharp delivery.
Last but not least, Patrick Carmody is a stand-up comedian whose comedy lives somewhere between overthinking, bad luck, and confidently misunderstanding the world. Drawing on real life, odd jobs, and the strange places his brain goes when left unsupervised, Patrick delivers sharp, self-aware storytelling with a slightly chaotic edge. He’s proof that curiosity, poor impulse control, and anxiety can, in fact, be funny
