FAMILY and friends helped Dorothy Acott celebrate her 100th birthday at the Bulford Hall in Wellington.
Her children Andrew and Annie, grandchildren Iain – visiting from Australia – Kate, Ashley and Georgia, and great grandsons Joe and Cian were there, along with friends from many parts of the country and Germany.
Mrs Acott was born in a small village near Hay-on-Wye on June 19, 1916, and moved to London when she was 18 where she trained and worked as a book-keeper.
She lived in west London and Sussex for most of her life until she moved to Wellington in 1997 to be near her family.
She now lives quietly in her bungalow in the town but enjoys the occasional outing when weather permits.
