THE annual fireworks display at Oake Manor Golf Club was a roaring success.
On a warm, clear night, a record crowd gathered to watch the most spectacular show yet, courtesy of Firestorm Pyrotechnics. The skies above Oake were ablaze with colour as wave after wave of fireworks exploded into life, ending with a thrilling finale which left the crowd spellbound.
After the display, many people stayed on to celebrate, enjoying the free disco and catering, which makes this event so popular.
The event is hosted by Oake Manor each year, with proceeds from the gate going to support the PTA of Oake, Bradford & Nynehead Primary School.
Head teacher Nick Gilding was delighted that this year’s display was so well attended.
He said: “At a recent PTA meeting, we were discussing quite a long list of resources that would make big difference to our school and the record amount raised will go a long way to providing a wide range of equipment and opportunities for all the pupils.
“I would like to thank Annie Barrett and all the parents who helped on the night, the cadets who do so much to help the event run smoothly and, of course, the owners, management and staff of Oake Manor Golf Club without whom the event would not be possible.
“Geoff Counsell, of Firestorm Pyrotechnics, pulled out all the stops this year and put on the best show yet.
“Finally, a huge thank you to everyone who came – I hope you had a great night and we look forward to seeing you next year.”
