THE club celebrated its fourth annual open day at Burlescombe Community Hall.

Wellington couple and club founders Lloyd and Diana Yorke thank volunteers for their help, local councillors and charitable trusts for their support, and club members, who have shown enthusiasm and benefited from the many activities provided three days a week.

Since opening its doors to older people in April 2014 attendances have increased to more than 35 a week.

Lloyd and Diana put their success down to the fact that the service they provide is affordable to older people and they guarantee a fun-filled day and delicious lunch.

Lloyd said: “It was our most successful event yet. Everyone enjoyed lots of cake and refreshments, and watched a

35-minute film on the variety of activities club members have enjoyed over the past 12 months. We are proud to provide one of the most affordable and enjoyable day services in the region.”
