A TEENAGER who drove a car in Wellington without insurance has been fined £120 and had his driving licence endorsed with six penalty points.

Kian Keirle, aged 18, of Westleigh, pleaded guilty when he appeared in Taunton Magistrates Court on Monday, August 24.

Prosecuting solicitor Emma Lenanton said the offence happened in Wellington’s North Street car park on July 24 this year.

Keirle also admitted possessing 1.9 grammes of the class B drug cannabis in Wellington on the same day.

District Judge Angela Brereton fined him £40 for the drugs offence and made an order for the forfeiture and destruction of the cannbis.

Judge Brereton also told Keirle to pay £40 toward the costs of the prosecution and £64 to a victim surcharge fund.
