Thomas Buttle, 21, has been left ‘devastated’ after his scooter was stolen at the weekend. Mr Buttle’s black and grey Lexmoto Titan 125 was stolen from Parklands Road between Sunday night, July 30, and Monday morning, July 31.

The bike has a white ‘WG’ sticker on its body and a scratch on the exhaust pipe. Its registration plate is GD21 JUO. Tom and his family are appealing for any information regarding the whereabouts of the vehicle or the circumstances of the theft.

Tom uses his scooter to get to and from work and since the incident, his boss has had to step in to give him lifts.

Since the theft, he has been relying on public transport to go shopping, cannot visit his family further afield and says he feels ‘trapped’ within walking distance of his home.

Tom said he “lost all of his independence” and that the incident has “made life hard”.

He added the theft has “messed everything up” and that he is frustrated to be relying on others for day-to-day things.

A police investigation has now been launched into the alleged theft. In a statement a spokesperson for Avon and Somerset said:

"We'd ask anyone with information relating to the theft of black and grey Lexmoto Titan scooter in Wellington please get in contact with us.

"We have received an online report that the vehicle was stolen in the early hours of Sunday 30 July.

"If you can help our enquiries, please contact us online or on 101 providing the crime reference number 5223185512."
