THE M5 motorway between Wellington and Taunton was closed in both directions for several hours on Monday morning after a man fell from a bridge close to the Taunton Deane Service Station.

Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance landed on the northbound carriageway to take the man to hospital with what were described as ‘non-life threatening injuries’.

Rolling road blocks were used as police re-opened the motorway by mid-morning.
