A WELLINGTON motorist has been fined by magistrates for breaking a speed limit on the town’s A38 relief road.

The case against Kanice Lewis, aged 34, of Jurston Walk, was proven in October of last year under the single justice procedure, which does not require a full court hearing.

But, sentencing was postponed until Monday’s (August 3) hearing in Taunton Deane Magistrates Court.

Prosecuting solicitor Emma Lenanton said Lewis had been caught on July 7 last year driving her Peugeot car at 37 mph in a 30 mph zone on the relief road.

Chairman of the bench Timothy Holden fined Lewis £72, endorsed her driving licence with three penalty points, and ordered her to pay a victim fund surcharge of £28.
