A COMPANY which has been supplying vital medical equipment to war-torn Ukraine was pleased to have the chance to demonstrate the work it does when the local MP visited.

ESU Medical Solutions, based on Westpark at Chelston, aims to help healthcare professionals improve the lives of their patients.

Periwinkle Kaur, managing director for ESU Medical Solutions, said: “We were delighted to welcome Gideon Amos [MP for Taunton and Wellington] to ESU Medical Solutions.

“It was a great opportunity to showcase how our team supports the healthcare sector, both locally and internationally.

“We were honoured to share how our team has supported Ukraine over the past three years, including during periods when no air channel was available.

“Thanks to the dedication of one team member who maintained communication and coordination, we continued providing support when it was most needed.

“Gideon showed great interest in our biomedical parts work, particularly the assembly of medical foot pedals and electronic components.“

“He was also impressed by our electrosurgical adapters and connectors supplied alongside electrosurgical units, laparoscopy, and endoscopy equipment from leading manufacturers.

“These capabilities allow us to support NHS facilities, private hospitals, veterinary organisations, and hospitals, plastic surgery clinics as well as medical manufacturers.”

The company is now expanding towards the medical robotics side, making it a standalone company to work on the remanufacturing side of robotic arms and repairing the instruments.

MP Gideon Amos said afterwards: “It’s an absolute priority for me to champion Taunton and Wellington businesses and the jobs they provide locally.

“The fact that ESU is expanding so fast and doing business around the world is a real tribute to Peri and her entrepreneurialism.

“Sadly, government too often fails to understand business...That's why I want to see energy bills reduced and a lower rate of VAT for key sectors.”
