IT was a floral delight when almost 300 competition entries were received for a local flower show.

On Saturday, July 5, 296 entries were displayed at the Bradford on Tone Flower Show including fruit, vegetables, flowers, floral art, handicraft, art and photography.

There were also children’s classes, a heaviest potato crop class and even a village logo competition.

Local businesses helped support the event by gifting class winner prizes and wonderful raffle items too.

A spokesperson for the show said: “This was a wonderful event for the village demonstrating its strong community spirit and tradition.”

A large crowd joined the show and prize giving in the afternoon where Georgina Robarts, chair of the parish council presented the cups and trophies to the winners.
