RESIDENTS in Wellington are being urged to attend the town’s charity-run community centre annual meeting next month.

The centre, in White Hart Lane, which is celebrating its 120th anniversary this year, is owned collectively by every resident and is managed by an association overseen by 10 committee members.

The annual meeting, which is being held in the centre at 6 pm on Wednesday, April 8, will be an opportunity to elect new committee members.

Nomination forms for committee membership are available from Wellington Town Council’s offices in Fore Street and should be returned to the authority by 12 noon on April 1.

A spokesperson for the centre said: “Come along and see what the community centre has to offer as a venue for meetings, leisure activities, and parties.”
