PUBLIC notices cover a range of applications, ranging from licensing applications for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works.
Their intention is to inform communities of the latest plans in their area and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities.
Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Somerset Council in Wellington:
• Notice has been given that Somerset Council proposes to make a prohibition of driving order (Bus Gate), on Lambourne Road, Taunton, at a point 10 metres west of its junction with Comeytrowe Lane. Exemptions are provided in the Order for local buses operating a local service, pedal cycles, emergency service vehicles, local authority vehicles and maintenance or service vehicles. This is to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.
• Cothelstone Road, Bishop’s Lydeard, will be closed from the junction with Toulton Road to the junction with Kingston St Mary Road. This is a total distance of 1,123 metres. The closure will be on October 6 from 9.30am to 3.30pm for a total of six hours, to enable Openreach to carry out pole testing works.
• Blackdown Hill Road, West Buckland, will be closed for 1,487 metres from Ford Street to the junction with West Buckland Road, from October 6 to 9, 9.30am to 3.30pm, to enable Openreach to carry out pole renewal works.

There is no alternative route for this closure.
• West Buckland Road, West Buckland, will be closed on October 6 from 9.30am to 3.30pm from the junction with Lee Park, southwards for a total distance of 647 metres. This order will enable Openreach to carry out cabling works.
