PLANS to change an agricultural barn in Wellington into a dwelling has been resubmitted to Somerset Council.

Mr Jamie Hopkins has reapplied for planning permission to change the use of the barn which forms part of Gillards Farm and is located to the north east of the main farmhouse.

The site is located 25m to the east of Middle Green Road and approximately 1.6km to the south of Wellington.

Within the application, the barn is described as ‘no longer fit for modern agricultural practices’.

Previously, approval was granted to undertake the project but due to COVID it was unable to be completed within the three year time frame.

The external alterations are largely complete and the conversion scheme is “sympathetic to the original character and appearance of the barn.”

Access to the site is from the existing private driveway.
