Drivers in and around Somerset West and Taunton will have five National Highways road closures to watch out for this week.
And one of them is expected to cause moderate delays – with motorists facing a wait of between 10 minutes and half an hour.
The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that three closures already in place are expected to carry on this week:
• M5, from 8pm November 9 to 6am November 10, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 27 to 25 carriageway closure for urgent carriageway repairs, diversion via A38.
• M5, from 8pm October 27 2025 to 6am February 7 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 narrow lanes for drainage works.
• A30, from 8pm April 1 2025 to 4am April 1 2026, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.
And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:
• M5, from 9pm November 12 to 5am November 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 25 entry slip road closure for barrier repair, diversion southbound to junction 26 and return.
• M5, from 8pm November 14 to 6am November 15, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 northbound, junction 26 carriageway closure between exit and entry slip roads for urgent carriageway repairs, diversion via exiting M5 and immediately re-joining northbound.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
