DESPITE a chill in the air and the threat of rain, about 400 music lovers stepped back to the 60s at Wellington Park last Sunday afternoon for a ‘return’ appearance of popular local band Cleverly Everly and their Sixties Tribute Show.

The band have packed audiences at various venues in the area in recent years - and it is not difficult to see way.

The band is made up of former BBC Points West correspondent Clinton Rogers, his brother Stan, Stan’s wife Uta and guitarist Steve Craig.

They play the kind of music which encourages the audience to dance - and up they got last Sunday, some obviously keen to ‘warm up.’

The event was organised by Friends of the Park, and committee member Rose Hookway said: “We were delighted with the turnout - especially as the weather could easily have put off people. We have supporters who we see every week, come rain or shine.

“We’re a non-profit making organisation and every penny we raise goes back into staging our events. We also have a very loyal band of workers who are here long before the event starts and after it finishes.”
