THE town flower show has celebrated its 90th event, and fifty years at their Wellington School venue.

The school’s head, Alex Battison presented the cups and awards for the show’s anniversary on August 23.

Chairman of the Wellington Flower Show, Sheena Page said: “It was an extremely successful event, with an excellent number of entries despite a very challenging growing season.

“In the main hall fabulous fuchsias and dazzling dahlias led the field in the flower and pot plant sections, along with amazing fruit and veg, whilst in the classrooms, Fat Rascals and fantastic photos were on display.

“It was pleasing to see an increase in the number of children’s exhibits and good to see more children taking part. Next year, we’ll hope for even more!”
